Crazy things happen on the way to change.

Amazing things happen on the way to change.

Just for today, I would like to change my tagline a little bit.  Instead of crazy, I would like to insert the word “amazing”. Don’t get me wrong,  my life is still crazy but I have had some great experiences over the past couple of days that warrant the temporary change.

This morning, I had the pleasure of attending my first ever Translator Lab. Let me tell ya, these people are awesome! They were so welcoming despite the fact that I was the only one without a laptop! My reason for going there today was twofold. First of all, I needed to meet these people that I have been hearing and reading about. Secondly, I wanted to get some “out of the box” ideas about the upcoming fashions show/fundraiser.  So glad I went! The ideas were just a-flowin. Thanks to my experience today, you all have something AMAZING to look forward to come November (whatever the date will be). Many thanks to @deziner @markfairbanks @lntenney @houseofbrew @adny @bootyp @raffel  @brian_mayer YOU ALL ROCK!

So…great morning followed by an epic impromptu lunch with my new friend Anne (@bananza). I’m sure that you are all familiar with this “twitter maven’s” blog. If not, check it out now! I had such a great time with Anne talking about the fashion show, work and even our history living in what some would call “the ghetto”. Thank you Anne for meeting with me today. Another
AMAZING person.

Tonight….whoa, tonight will be off the charts! My Husband and I ( and maybe one of the kids that happens to be around) will be going to another new friends home for dinner. She and her husband have been so supportive of me and my passion and I will never be able to repay them for this. Another friend will be there too. Anyone familiar with the “beerlord”?? I am really looking forward to spending time with my new friends! @einley @Beer_Craig  @mitch_j. I guess my point for this post is that sometimes good things really can come out of a bad situation.  I would give anything to have my mom back with me, but if she hadn’t passed, I would know nothing about The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. I would  have had no reason to start the @pancanmilwaukee and @julz156 twitter accounts. So, on my way to change, I have met AMAZING people and feel very blessed to have them in my life!

  1. Julie, it was AWESOME to have you at the lab this morning! It was so fun to brainstorm around the fashion show and talk through some ways to make it rock! Looking forward to walking the runway for such a good cause. Please stop back in again!

  2. Julie, just seconding The Deziner’s comment. We love sharing and collaborating with the members of the community. And to the point of your post, great things do come out of adversity. It sometimes takes awhile for the it to materialize, but I’ve found that there’s a reason for everything. Please stop by the lab anytime. :)

  3. Julie- Your blog is shaping up great, and it was very cool that you made it to Translator Lab time. I’ve been down myself once and everyone was very welcoming to me as well. Keep up the great work with PanCan and see you at an event real soon!

  4. Yea for new friends and new opportunities God blesses us with!!
